The success of "The Lord of the Rings"Encourages New Line Cinema to embark on another serial project that is a bit reminiscent of"Narnia”, Although without as much stupidity as in that one.
I have not had a chance to read this trilogy but, of course, the trailer looks pretty good. "The Golden Compass" is the directorial debut of Chris Weitz, screenwriter of, among others, "Nutty Professor 2" or "A big boy”. Perhaps the most interesting are the names that appear in the cast in which we can see faces as diverse and stimulating as those of Eric Bana, Sam Eltiott, Nicole Kidman, John Hurt, Kevin Bacon, Eva Green and Daniel Craig, the latter agreeing on again after "Casino Royale".
Most likely, this will be the movie for Christmas and, if New Line does well, for the next few years.
