The essential metal discs ... for them

Halford, Asheim, Pike

A well-known online magazine interviewed three exponents of this immortal musical genre and among other things, asked them which album they would choose as one of the most important of all time.

Rob Halford (Judas Priest) cited the Reign in blood, Slayer
"I love that album… it's an attitude and style of metal that I'm really passionate about… it's extremely intense and powerful… it's like being on fire while listening to it".

Steve Ashheim (Deicide) mentioned the Killers, Iron Maiden
"I don't know if it is the best job ever done, but it is simply exquisite. As a drummer, watching the Maiden play was an experience in my life. It was the first album I heard of that new wave of metal that came to town ... before that I only heard Kiss and Sabbath".

Matt pike (High on fire) chose the Black Sabbath, Black Sabbath
"It is probably my favorite heavy metal band. It is the album that everyone should have in their collections, as it constitutes the birth of this entire musical genre. It's definitely a classic".

If they asked me, I think I would say Ride the lightning, Metallica...
