The Deftones return to the studios ... without Chi

Deftones - Study

This famous Californian band has returned to the studios to restart jobs of Eros, his long overdue new album: this one had already been recorded with the bassist Chi Cheng, before he was involved in a terrible car accident - which left him in a coma- last November.

Through a message posted on your MySpace, Deftones claim that the original recording that was made with Cheng "does not encompass or represent well who they are today, as musicians and people".
In addition, they added that going back to the studio to do it all over again was “artistically correct".

Cheng He was briefly released from intensive care in March; currently, it is in a state of 'super-coma'due to the medication that is applied to him.
Sergio vega, ex-bassist of Quicksand, has been playing with the band since the fateful event.

In addition, it has been known that they plan to bring to light the original version of the Eros (with the contribution of Cheng)… «someday«.
