The albums expected for 2014

U2

Still shaken by the surprise release of Beyoncé's new album, which will still give a lot to talk about in 2014, in the next twelve months a long list of albums is expected, with the unknown about Adele and, above all, the end of the long wait for the thirteenth work of U2. There are many media that point to its launch for April, although we will have to wait for the announcement that the Irish band will make in February in the Super Bowl final for more details on the successor to 'No line on the horizon' (2009), probably titled 'Songs of Ascent' and which has been produced by Danger Mouse.

Much less will we have to wait to hear the album of versions of Bruce Springsteen's own and other people's songs, 'High hopes', in which Tom Morello, from Rage Against the Machine, collaborates, and which is scheduled for January 14, although a Presumed Amazon error has already caused its leak on the network. Not all top artists have set a specific date for their releases, but there are several voices that anticipate Adele's next material, the first after the planetary earthquake of '21' (2011), as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Wilco, The Black Keys, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Take That and Emeli Sandé. There could also be new work from Coldplay - which released 'Mylo Xyloto' in 2011 - and Radiohead, which this summer recorded at least one new song at Jack White's Nashville studio, another that could surprise.

A plethora of divas are among those who have confirmed an album, although without specifying much more: Kylie Minogue, Shakira, Lana del Rey ("Ultraviolence"), Mariah Carey (and the several times postponed "The art of letting go") and Jennifer López, who has just released the single "Same girl". In addition, Lady Gaga has dropped that there will be a reissue with new songs from "ARTPOP".
