Tennessee Williams Returns

He has been taken to the cinema a couple of times, and always with success that has made him immortal. The writer Tennessee Williams returns to the cinema, or rather, one of his works returns, in this case, "The loss of a teardrop diamond", an unpublished script that has been taken to the cinema by the writer Jodie Markell.

40 years have passed since he was last taken to the cinema, and in fact this script was written for Elia Kazan to direct, so you can get an idea ... Like many other plays by the playwright, "Loss ..." is set in the south, in Mississippi, in the 20s, and according to the director, reflects a "transition from an ancient world to a modern one."

It is the classic story of two opposing and distant worlds, some of the upper class and the others of the lower class; rich with almost slaves, where universal problems such as ethics or the relationship between human beings are brought to the fore.

Jodie Markell's work was premiered today at the Valladolid Film Festival, where it has been received with good reviews.
