"Tears of a Clown": Madonna's face and cross in Australia

'Tears of a Clown' was the show that Madonna offered last Thursday in Melbourne after 23 years without visiting Australia; one of those concerts that, for better and for worse, have not gone unnoticed. It's not because of being a Madonna fan for decades or anything like that, but I'm going to start with all the bad things that have been said about it: I prefer happy endings, yes.

'Tears of a Clown' was a special show that Madonna put on for 1500 lucky fans: more than two hours of show in which all those songs that the Queen of Pop does not usually interpret on her tours shone. But the problems appeared before the concert started, since the show started four hours late, to which it was added that the fans had to wait in the rain. This is the part that I always support in a matter of criticism: being the Queen of Pop does not exempt you from screwing it up in a big way when you leave your fans waiting a whopping four hours and also soaked.

The next criticisms, the destructive ones, began to run when Madonna appeared in an apparent drunken state, also consuming alcohol on several occasions on stage. The comments during the concert on social networks were joined by the media from around the world talking about a drunk Madonna, offering a show of dubious quality, without mentioning anything about the show itself.

Then, turning to the other side of 'Tears of a Clow', we find the thousands of comments from fans who were able to attend the show and those who did not miss the opportunity to read the hashtag #tearsofaclow live, seeing the photos and the videos that were appearing of the concert. Almost 100% focused on the so different tracklist that Madonna was offering that night, celebrating songs like 'X-Static Process' or 'I'm So Stupid' Among others, it was there that what had been experienced in Melbourne that night was truly celebrated. Comments that said that "it had been worth so much waiting", that spoke of "a unique concert that Madonna should consider as a tour", were the cross to the media.

This Clown is crying tears of Joy. Thank you Melbourne? #Tearsofaclown
