Tarantino lands in Cannes

During yesterday the Cannes Film Festival held different events, starting with the screening of three films in its official section.

The first of these was The Diving Bell and the Buterfly by Julian Schnabel, who was accompanied by the main actors and the film's producers. Later, the Mexican Carlos Reygadas presented his film, Silent Light.

But the main course came with Quentin Tarantino who, accompanied by his new muses, put the icing on the night with the screening of Death Proof. The director attended the red carpet with Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson, Rose McGowan, Tracie Thoms and Zoe Bell. Tarantino is a veteran of the contest, having won the Palme d'Or in 1994 for Pulp Fiction and then presenting Kill Bill Vol. 2 in 2004, the same year he served as President of the Jury.

As I said yesterday when talking about Robert Rodriguez, Death Proof is part of Grindhouse, a joint production of Tarantino with his Texan friend, in which the intention of both is undoubtedly to pay tribute to the B movies that were made in the years 70.
