Mario BagsLebanese producer of films such as "Terminator 2", "Total Challenge" or "Heaven and Earth", has acquired the rights to "Audition" Japanese film that made Takashi Miike internationally known.
The original Japanese film was based on the eponymous book by Ryu murakami and it is precisely the book that this new version will most resemble in the words of the producer himself.
In 1999, Takashi Miike made his way to the West, after years of being a benchmark in Japanese genre cinema, with "Audition", a film in which he starred Ryo ishibashi, whom we had already seen under Takeshi Kitano in "Kids Returns" years ago and eihi shiina who debuted in this film and which we have seen a posteriori in films like "Tokyo Gore Police."
The Australian will be in charge of the script and direction of this new film. Richard Gray, director of films such as "Summer Coda" and "Blinder" who has just finished his latest work "The Lookalike."
