Syd Barrett: The Man Who Never Wanted to Be Famous

The sister of Syd, one of the founders of the extraordinary band Pink Floyd, has recently stated that he was never attracted to fame and that his retirement from the music scene was due to a combination of excessive LSD and an eccentric creative personality.

Barrett it came out of Pink Floyd en 1968 to return home in Cambridge and then began a short solo career. He passed away two years ago due to a pancreatic cancer.
Due to his continuous introspection through drug use, Syd was and will continue to be a cult figure among his many fans.

Rosemary, his sister, commented: “If you get fed up with everything and combine that feeling with a lot of acid, you get chaos… all of that was pretty harsh, but inevitable at the same time. If you put these factors together, your brain will surely explode.
Fame didn't matter to him and he never understood it. Nor did he need it, since since he was a kid he was surrounded by people who admired him.
He tried to leave the music behind. If someone on the street called him Syd (his real name was Roger) he would not answer ... it was not Syd, because Syd was Pink Floyd
