On September 9, the new MIA album will finally go on sale, which will be titled 'AIM' and which will be released through the Interscope label three years after his last production, 'Matangi'.
Controversial as usual, MIA defined the new 'AIM' as the album with the most positive spirit, stating that there would be no complaint lyrics in their songs and assuring that this will be the last studio album. So far this year MIA has been advancing various singles from the new album: 'Borders', 'MIA OLA' and 'Rewear It'. The delay in its release created a state of tension with its label which threatened to anticipate the entire album in May if they did not define the date of its release.
'Go Off' was released on July 15 as the first official single from the album, a song produced by Skrillex and Blaqstarr and whose video clip has been directed by MIA itself.. Later a version of the single 'Bird Song' was released, produced by Blaqstarr and released on August 12. Days later another version of the same single was promoted, this time produced by Diplo. This version was involved in a controversy as MIA reported on Twitter that Interscope was blocking the exit of the Diplo collaboration to prevent its publication. Well, three days later the Asian singer communicated through Periscope that the problem had been solved and that Diplo's version of 'Bird Song' was now available for download.
Among the songs that are part of 'AIM' will include 'Fly Pirate', the same legend that was seen in the video of 'Borders', where she appeared wearing a soccer jersey emulating the inscription 'Fly Emirates', which cost her the claim of the Paris Saint-Germain soccer team authorities urging her to remove the YouTube video.
