From a Marine Biology laboratory to television (and much beyond)
Stephen Hillenburg, Marine Biologist by Profession, SpongeBob conceived while teaching Ocean Institute of Orange County, California. This was in 1984.
Determined to unleash your imagination, hillenburg put aside (though not entirely) the study of ocean ecosystems and he devoted himself to cartoons.

Spongebob: The Movie (Soundtrack)
In 2004, with the first foray of the character on the big screen, it would be published a compact disc with all the laws and with the firm intention of selling thousands of copies. So much so that turned down the participation of superstar pop star Justin Timberlake, stating that he was not interested in working with commercial idols.
The Yellow Album
Edited in 2005, it is about a second compilation of the songs heard during the television broadcasts of Spongeboba. A Christmas theme was included, as well as a couple of multimedia tracks.
The Yellow Album sold a respectable 30.000 copies in the United StatesNot bad for a soundtrack from a TV series, without the participation of bombastic stars.
El album title, as well as the cover, were a kind of tribute to TheWhite The Beattles album.
The Best Day Ever
Edited in 2006, all songs were written by Tom Kenny, the voice actor for Bob, arranged and produced by Andy Paley.
In addition to all the regular members of the casting, they participated as guest stars Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys and Tommy Ramone of The Ramones. Also taking part was Rock and Roll Hall of Famer James Burton, guitarist for Elvis Presley's band.
The album had the support of critics and the general public, reaching up to ranked 9 on the Billboard Children's Albums chart.
Spongebob Greatest Hits
To mark the tenth anniversary of the series, in 2009 this compilation was published with several of the songs that accompanied Bob, Patricio, Calamargo and company during their first 10 years of life.
It is so far the most successful album released about life in Bikini City, with just under 400.000 copies sold in the United States. It entered the charts of several countries around the world, including Spain, where it reached the 15th rung of PROMUSICAE.

In 2012, regarding the broadcast of a Christmas special with the same name, this album was released with all the songs included in the delivery.
Spongebob: A Hero Out of Water (Soundtrack)
NERD, the band of Parrel Williams and Chad Hugo perform three of the five songs that make up this EP, with the original songs included in the film. (Williams himself wrote the lyrics for Squeeze me, the most popular of all).
Spongebob on the boards
In 2016 it premiered on Broadway a musical work based on the popular marine sponge. David Bowie, Cindy Lauper, Steven Tyler and John Legend were some of the artists who contributed original songs to a character who has fans everywhere and whose universe grows over time.
