Sitges 2015: Review of 'Cop Car'

Jon Watts has presented the film 'Cop Car' at the Sitges Festival a good story without more that will go quite unnoticed.

The director shows talent in the direction and in the script that he writes together with Christopher D. Ford, although perhaps the most interesting that 'Cop Car' contributes is the point of view of the leading children.

That the movie is narrated from the point of view of two boys who, playing, have stolen a police car, leaving in the background the sheriff who chases them to recover the vehicle, it is a success, since this makes us before a quite nice film throughout the entire footage, funny in some moments and tender in others.

Great performance by very young James Freedson-Jackson and Hays Wellford, as well as veteran Kevin Bacon, who we always see better in the role of villain than in that of hero.

The film is pure entertainment, as we have already said funny almost at all times, but unpretentious. We can see nothing new in 'Cop Car' which makes it quickly fall into oblivion. And it is that in a contest like the Sitges Festival we only remember the big surprises, whether for better or for worse.
