Sitges 2014: Criticism of «Stereo» by Maximilian Erlenwein

stereo

The thriller more of action than psychological of Maximilian erlenwein "Stereo" points ways at first but goes flat as the plot progresses.

Maybe this is because there does not seem to be enough material for its 95 minutes or because it becomes predictable very quickly.

«stereo»Tells the story of a mechanic who leads a peaceful life working in his motorcycle workshop and taking care of his girlfriend and her daughter, until one fine day he meets a man that no one else sees, who accompanies him wherever he goes and that seems to have something to do with his mysterious past.

This beginning is very promising but very soon the viewer solves the puzzle, imagining what can unite the protagonist with his imaginary friend.

This leads to an overly extended second act in which the main character's past is present, in the form of gangsters who want to settle accounts.

Despite the fact that the outcome, even though foreseeableIt is quite exciting to leave the projection with a good feeling, it is also too long.

In short, an entertaining film that will not go down in the history of the Sitges Festival, but in which it is worth highlighting the work of its two main actors Jurgen Vogel y Moritz bleibtreu.

Rating: 4 / 10
