Singapore is submitted for the eighth time to the preselection at Oscar Best Foreign Language Film with "My Beloved Dearest."

«My beloved dearest»Tells the story of Murni, a caregiver who works a lonely and bitter old man, Pak Harun. Murni tries to cook a dish called Sambal Goreng for him exactly as his late wife did, but to no avail. In addition, Murni loves to sing while cooking, something that greatly irritates Pak Harun. The clashes between the two are several, but finally there will be something that unites them.

In 1959 Singapore was submitted for the first time to the Oscar preselection of best foreign film, although he would not return until 2005. A total of seven films have tried, without success, to be nominated at the Academy Awards, three of them by Eric Khoo, probably the most international director that the country has given.
