"Silent Light" prevailed in Huelva

The Mexican film "Luz Silenciosa" won the Colón de Oro at best feature film in the 33rd edition of the Ibero-American Festival of Huelva. Its director, Carlos Reygada, also won the award in his field. In turn, the special prize of the Jury went to the Brazilian "The year my parents went on vacation" by Cao Hamburguer.

While the Audience Award went to the Argentine "The result of love", by Eliseo Subiela, whose protagonist, the debutant Sofía Gala, won Best Actress. And the Best Actor was Leonardo Medeiros, protagonist of the also Brazilian «Nao por acaso».

"Silent Light" was filmed entirely in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico, and the characters were played by people from the Mennonite communities in the area. The story tells the life of a family man who, against the law of God and of man, falls in love with another woman. This film had already won the Jury Prize in the last Cannes film festival.
