The former Genesis spoke to the press this week and announced the departure of his new album, Scratch My Back, for the next one January 25.
The record will come out low Virgin Records and it will be the first part of an ambitious project that Gabriel is up to. The idea is reverting other people's songs, always accompanied by top-notch artists, as is the case with John Metcalfe, Bob Ezrin and Tchad Blake.
The tracklist will have 12 songs, and according to Peter Gabriel, it will be a very personal work, recorded with orchestra and voice, and dispensing with guitars and drums. Among the reinterpreted versions are The Power Of The Heart, by Lou Reed; Mirrorball by Elbow; My Body Is A Cage, by Arcade Fire; and The Boy In The Bubble, by Paul Simon.
