For his defense of AIDS care and his fight against the disease, actor Richard Gere will be awarded the Marian Anderson Award from Tibet.

In statements to the press, the mayor of the place said that he is awarded the award "for his achievements as an actor they are only surpassed by his achievements as a humanitarian and defender of human rights around the world."

As for his acting career, he will return to the ring with "Hachiko: a Dog's Story", the remake of a Japanese film that tells a very particular story. A dog that waited for its owner for more than 10 years at a train station. The man had passed away.
