Last January, the members of Grateful Dead and the Rhino label announced the next publication of a double album with the best songs of the Californian group. This launch will be part of the events planned this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation of this legendary American group. The Grateful Dead has been for decades one of the greatest exponents of Californian psychedelic rock, a renowned band that has built a whole universe of its own through its countless tours and memorable albums over the past five decades.
This new compilation album will contain a total of 32 songs, which in chronological order will show the evolution of the Californian group through the different decades. The double album contains more than two hours of music, with the best songs of the group that have been remastered by engineer David Glasser. The album contains rarities such as a two and a half minute version of 'Dark Star', a song that live reaches 30 minutes, the complete suite of 'Terrapin Station', considered the masterpiece of the Dead, and the single 'Touch of Gray' that was Top 10 in 1987.
