After its birth in 2006, the Resurrection Fest de Viveiro festival has established itself as one of the most important in Europe when it comes to rock, metal, punk and hardcore.
Iron Maiden will be the main attraction in this year's edition, where more than 80.000 people are expected.
The Resurrection Fest has been growing little by little, with very little financial and material means. Was going adding more time and more scenarios. The people of the area, suspicious at the beginning of the event, have been adapting and supporting the human tide that comes every year to Viveiro.
Its economic impact is increasingly high. PFor the 2016 edition, it is expected to reach 6,15 million euros in revenue, with 300 direct and 500 indirect jobs. Many attendees arrive in advance, up to a week before.
As accommodation, hotels, pensions and even many tenement houses, are full during these dates. But there is more, the Resurrection has four camping areas, three of them free, and the other, a kind of VIP camping within the festival site.
The age of the Resurrection festival goer is highly variable, between 18 and 35 years old, with the majority male (around 55%), and from different countries. This year, tickets have been sold to 36 countries, including Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia, Indonesia, Australia and Japan.
The attraction of the festival must be added that of the enotrno where it takes place: the beaches, nature, the estuary. The Resurrection Fest is lA perfect excuse to spend a few days on vacation in Viveiro.
This year it takes another step. Iron Maiden gladly agreed to attend Resurrection Fest. Apparently they already knew him and everything has been very easy to make it possible for all festival goers to enjoy the mythical British band.
