Remembering ... Religion

Religion

"Music for this end of the century. Music made in Córdoba for penitents of the century: The mystique of sound and the silence of light surround as never before the unknown of the future to be cleared. Songs that do not speak of love, peace or coca cola and yes of God, blindness and total desolation (JJ, 08/06/1986) ".

This is how the entertainment section of a well-known Cordovan newspaper began that Sunday June 8th, 1986. Four talented young people were presenting at that time a model that contained six themes and when listening to it, the most knowledgeable in the matter already dared to classify them as a revelation group, all agreeing on a phrase that until now is completely correct: “This doesn't sound like it's from here".

Jesus Astorga (voice), Jorge Luque (low), Manuel Carrillo (guitar) and Fermin Gomez (drums), would make up this mythical quartet determined to make their work a true masterpiece, and that's how it happened.
The title of your single lp makes clear reference to the thematic duality which contain the nine songs edited: Some seem to be based on heartbreaking stories told with ingenious rawness and others resonate with the force of storms conceived in the day to day, in their lives, in the heart.
Thus was born one of the best works ever made available to our senses: Some Tales, Other Storms...

Religion - when the murmur of the wind
