Jennifer Connelly y Keanu Reeves will be the protagonist of The Day the Earth Stood Still, a remake of the classic science fiction, Ultimatum to Earth, directed by Robert Wise in 1951. This time the project will go hand in hand with the director Scott Derrickson (Emily Rose's exorcism) and his filming will start next month in Vancouver. Fortunately, the writers' strike that is taking place now will not delay its launch, as the script is already written.

On this occasion, Keanu Reeves will play Klaatu (in the 1951 film played by Michael rennie), a human-like alien who travels to Earth in order to spread a message of peace in which he tries to warn earthlings of the dangers of atomic energy and war, however the army does not receive him as well as the innocent alien awaited, and the robot that accompanies him is forced to act in his defense.

The remake promises a ton of special effects and keeps the viewer barely blinking throughout its projection. Its release date is scheduled for December 2008Until then, we will wait anxiously ...
