Record sales fell 7 percent in 2009

The sale of CDs fell in 2009, although not as much as expected: it decreased by 7 percent during 2009, according to a report published in London by the International Federation of Phonographic Producers (IFPI) on the situation of the music business.

There was a decrease in sales in the two most powerful markets in this sector, the United States and Japan. Likewise, there is a solid increase in digital music although digital piracy is what wreaks havoc.

Meanwhile, the album 'I Dreamed a Dream'of the British singer Susan Boyle, who rose to world fame after his participation in the British television program 'Britain's Got Talent', was the best seller of last year, with 8,3 million of copies.

Other big sellers of the past year were the Black Eyed Peas, the late Michael Jackson, Taylor Swfit, and Lady Gaga.
