Empire magazine shows us the first official photos of the prequel to "Alien" from Ridley Scott, which will be called «Prometheus«. There, they are seen with images of actors Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Noomi Rapace, and Logan Marshall-Green. Scott gets back behind the project.
In the story, a team of scientists and explorers embark on an exciting journey that will test their physical and mental limits, where they are trapped in a distant world, in which they will discover the answers to the deepest questions.
«Prometheus»Will use the Alien universe as a backdrop for an original story, reflecting clear indications of the ancient mythology depicted in the original film. In turn, the presence of the Zeta Riticuli extrasolar system has been confirmed.
Located on Earth in 2058, archaeological excavations in Africa reveal that humans were genetically created by an advanced alien race, the Space Jockeys. These 'Alien Gods' modified the terrain of our planet to make it habitable for humans. The Weyland Corp. launches its Prometheus spacecraft into space to make first contact.
Thanks to the possibility of traveling at the speed of light, they arrive years later in the Zeta Riticuli solar system. Humans are attached to their creators and aliens are proud and as a reward they share part of their technology with humans.
But, for a member of the Prometheus crew this is not enough and it robs them of the technology that would allow humans to also become gods. They do not accept humans as equals and therefore release their favorite biological weapon, a being they use to 'cleanse' the worlds before colonizing them. But something goes wrong in the process and humans manage to use this biological weapon against its creators.
This results in the birth of more intelligent and unpleasant creatures. Now the humans will try to escape from the planet but one of these creatures sneaks into the Prometheus.
The film will be released on June 8, 2012.
