Pixar will work on more original films

Pixar

Pixar's latest production, Finding Dory, has hit theaters around the world. The long-awaited sequel has proven to have an outstanding technical bill and a script that could even surpass the first part. Pixar fans have left the cinema wanting a sequel.

But as expected, the producers and writers of Pixar, strive to make great stories and are aware that they are not just another factory of sequels. This and the originality of his films are part of the Pixar brand, something that fans are also drawn to. Something that moviegoers in general miss in a billboard saturated with sequels, remakes and reboots.

With respect to this the president of the company, Jim Morris, has stated the following:

Most studios make a sequel as soon as they've had a hit movie. But it is not our model, we do not make a sequel if the director of the original film does not have an idea that we are willing to move forward with.

It should be added that for each sequel that is drawn from a great idea, its journey will be supervised by a team of experts headed by John Lasseter, Pete Docter and Andrew Stanton. Almost nothing, and see if other big producers take notes, please.

Morris add to this:

A sequel in some aspects is even more difficult to make than the original, because once you get that defined world, on the one hand it is an advantage, but on the other hand you have expectations that you have to meet so as not to disappoint.

And we will have Cars 3, Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2. but Morris has insisted with the idea of making fewer sequels than original films:

Our plan is to make an original movie every year and a sequel every two years, as long as we have the perfect idea to make it. If we look at the projects carried out since Disney acquired Pixar in 2006 and what is to come in the future, we see that we are talking about 7 sequels for 21 original films.
