Nicolas Cage will not be Al Capone

Reciently the news broke that Nicolas Cage would play a young Al Capone in the prequel to "The Untouchables of Elliot Ness." Finally, if Brian De Palma goes ahead with his project, it will be without the Oscar winner actor.

According to their representatives, despite having been in negotiations for several days, they were finally unable to close a collaboration agreement due to scheduling issues. Better for the movie because seeing Cage's wigs is starting to trigger an allergy. And comparing his hypothetical interpretation with that of De Niro in Los Untocables would be laughable.

What is known for sure is that Relativity Media will finance the film while Paramount will distribute it in the United States. Art Linson, who produced the 1987 film, will be producing this prequel as well.

Aside from Cage, the only announced (and apparently confirmed) actor is Gerard Butler, the rising 300-star, who will play Jimmy Malone, previously portrayed by Sean Connery.
