France will celebrate the centenary of the composer's birth Oliver Messiaen next year 2008, with more than 175 concerts. Messiaen, who was born on December 10, 1908 in Avignon and died in 1992, is considered one of the most important composers of the XNUMXth century.
The first concerts will be held in Paris in January 2008, also in honor of Karlheinz Stockhausen e Iannis Xenakis, two other composers and more than 600 concerts will be around the world in some 27 countries.
