Massive Attack's new EP 'Ritual Spirit' now available

A new Massive Attack EP, 'Ritual Spirit', finally lands on streaming platforms. The Bristol band also returns with news of an upcoming EP plus album to be released this year.

The fans of the considered parents of trip hop who did not possess an iPhone last week, surely they walked head butting with every corner with which they crossed, since the Fantom app, the one that allowed you to discover the fragments of the four Tracks belonging to the new Massive Attack EP in a slightly different way (it used your heart rate, location, movement, time of day and the way the phone's camera moves) was only available on iOS.

But that limitation to iOS can now be terminated, and not because Fantom has reached the rest of operating systems, but because Massive Attack published yesterday 'Ritual Spirit' on the usual streaming platforms, thus giving us the possibility of discovering this new work by those from Bristol, for which they have surrounded themselves with high-altitude collaborators - and regular ones - such as Tricky, Young Fathers, Roots Manuva and Azekel.

'Take It There' [ft. Tricky]

The launch of the new Massive Attack EP has been accompanied by the video clip of one of the songs, 'Take It There', for which they had the collaboration of another of the great names of British trip hop: Tricky. The video for 'Take It There' is as dark as the song itself, with that almost depressing and enveloping vibe that makes Massive Attack such a special band. The video clip has been directed by Hiro Murai and has the collaboration of actor John Hawkes (American Gangster, Lincoln ...).

For those who have been wanting more, which will be many, say that Pitchfork already announces a second Massive Attack EP, written and co-produced by Daddy G, which will be released next spring and a new album for later in 2016.
