Movie Soundtracks

soundtracks

Music can represent half a movie. In some cases, even more. Some would be really mediocre works if it weren't for the soundtracks. Others could not enter the Olympus of good films because the musical accompaniment failed.

Since the days of silent movies (or deaf, as some prefer to call it), music has played a leading role. With the development of new technologies, their presence was further strengthened.

In recent years, film soundtrack composers have become stars. Names like John Williams, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer or Michael Giacchino, are idolized within the industry. While songs on the voices of Celine Dion or Whitney Houston are true classics.

"Classic" Soundtracks

What would be of Psychosis (1961), Alfred Hitchcock's classic without the music of Bernand Herrmann? It would certainly not be the same.

Before working with "The Master of Suspense", Hermmann had already collaborated with another legend of the Seventh Art: Orson Welles. Citizen Kane, considered by many as the Best Film in the history of cinema, it is part of his filmography.

Among the classical composers Ennio Morricone should also be named. His works within the western stand out: A handful of dollars (1964) and El bueno, el malo y el feo (1966). He collaborated with Guiseppe Tornatore in Cinema Paradise (1988) and with Quentin Tarantino in Los odiosos ocho (2016)
