The Barcelona jazz festival is located, due to its quality and level of international guests, such as an unmissable proposal within the jazz festival circuit. Editing this year it will pay tribute to the legendary American trumpeter and composer Miles Davis.
The contest will begin on October 18, when saxophonist Wayne Shorter and his quartet get on the stage of the L'Auditori de Barcelona and show the audience the most authentic jazz. It should be remembered that Shorter was a stable member of the Miles Davis Quintet during the 60s, one of Davis's most successful spells.
Besides Shorter, There will also be Jimmy Cobb, the only living legend of one of the pillar records in jazz history, Kind Of Blue, who will perform on November 7; and Marcus Miller, composer with Davis de Tutu, who will perform on November 11 at the Palau de la Música, accompanied by Christian Scott. El pianista Brad Mehldau, singer Cassandra Wilson and Joe Lovano will also be in the game.
