After a six-year musical hiatus, the British musician Mike Oldfield returns with a new unreleased album: 'Man on the rocks'. This new album represents the 25th studio work in the legendary British artist's career, and will be released next Tuesday, March 4, through the Virgin EMI record label. 'Man on the rocks' has been co-produced by the well-known British producer Stephen Lipson and Oldfield himself, and has been recorded between Los Angeles, London and the Bahamas, the latter place where Oldfield has his own recording studio.
The new album contains eleven unreleased songs reflecting the various musical influences of the notable English artist. In 'Man on The Rocks' important musicians collaborated such as bassist Leland Sklar (Phil Collins, Crosby, Stills & Nash, James Taylor), drummer John Robinson (Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Daft Punk), keyboardist Matt Rollings, the guitarist Michael Thompson and British singer Luke Spiller (lead singer of Struts).
Oldfield's new work goes on sale at four physical versions in addition to the digital one: single CD, and two deluxe editions, one of 2 CDs (original album + extra versions) and another of 3 CDs called Super Deluxe Limited, which includes a bonus disc with demo versions and alternative mixes, and the last a double colored vinyl.
