Michael Phelps could be Tarzan in the new Warner Bros. production.

Michael Phelps

The best Olympic swimmer in all history Michael Phelps could go to the interpretation to be Tarzan in the production that Warner Bros. is preparing.

The film, which will be directed by David Yates, famous for bringing to the big screen the last four installments of the "Harry Potter" saga, will be produced to commemorate the centenary of the character of Edgar Rice Burroughs.

There is still nothing confirmed but the chances of Michael Phelps embodying the character are very real, especially after the athlete's retirement from professional swimming.

If the signing of the medalist for this project was confirmed, he would follow in the footsteps of Johnny Weissmüller, winner of six Olympic medals, coincidentally (or not) also in swimming, who gave life to Tarzan up to twelve times.

Johnny Weissmuller

Johnny Weissmüller played Tarzan for the first time in 1934 in the film "Tarzan of the Apes" by WS van Dyke.

If it were the case that Michael Phelps switched to acting to play this role, it would be necessary to see if this would open the doors to acting, in the case of Johnny Weismüller, in addition to his dozen films about Tarzan, he even starred five more films.
