The poetry of Robert Burns perhaps it was somewhat belittled when someone called it "sentimental trifle”, But this has not persuaded the intentions of Michael Jackson nor the American television character david gest (better known for having undergone several facial surgeries -and having been the same or worse- with the same plastic surgeon of the singer, than for his work) of recording an album based on the work of this acclaimed Scottish poet.
A close friend of Gest commented that both he and Jackson originally planned to make a musical based on the life of Burns, but that later they decided to transform their poetic essence into songs.
Fortunately, there are no plans to bring this eccentricity to the music market.
"We have not changed the lyrics of the poems. We have added modern music to bring it to life… Michael and I had a lot of fun. It's something we always wanted to do, because Robert is our favorite poet."He declared Gest.
