Kasabian: "the internet ended up with rock stars"

Kasabian

Tom meighanLeader Kasabian, has blamed the internet for “murder”To rock stars: affirms that there are no longer any important and iconic musicians left due to the fact that artists become known too much on blogs, and on social accounts such as Twitter...

"Rock and roll is no longer understood as it should. In the 60s and 70s you had characters like David Bowie or Marc Bolan, in the 80s there were even terrible groups that became stars. In the 90s the Britpop Revival took place.

Especially in the last three or four years, the internet has gained a lot of traction and has put an end to the myth of a rock star… you know, like when you bought a record just because of how important the artist was. There is too much information on blogs and it destroys the concept. Nobody is interested in an interview or unpublished material from a group ... it is something tragic.

Now there are countless 'rock stars' writing their own shameful blogs… and that's not the spirit of rock and roll… you read them and they are virtual garbage".
