In an interview for a well-known digital medium, Johnny Marr, co-founder and ex-guitarist of the Smiths (actually in The cribs), has revealed the reason for the success of one of the most important bands that the prominent city of Manchester.
"For starters, the band's songs were pretty consistent… there are a lot of emotions involved in them. I believe that emotional music remains through trends, fashions and style changes, as it is something that people will always be able to identify with."He commented.
"We don't adorn records with trendy sounds or overproduce them. We try to keep them in a classical way ... guitar music basically, as it is rarely forgotten. This combination of consistent themes, emotions and classic sounds on our albums has made them last over time.”He continued.
"And this is true. There is nothing false in everything we did ... the proof is that our music remains current to this day”He added
