The vocalist of the The Sex Pistols appeared on English television yesterday to vigorously deny the rating of "racist" that many local newspapers impute to him.
He also mentioned that he would take legal action against any publication that said otherwise than what he defends.
"There has been too much of what they call 'freedom of expression' ... they have crossed the line ... it has been truly insulting ... I have seen many stories that hurt.
My grandson is Jamaican, and this is an absolute lack of respect towards them and towards me. Reading news like this, totally unfounded, hurts my sensitivity.
The newspapers abuse the trust of a guy like me and call me a racist, when all my life I have proven to be the exact opposite"He said.
"I am not a racist at all. Any undesirables who say otherwise will have to deal with me in court."He added.
