Chinese actor, Jackie Chan, spearheads a campaign that aims to combat piracy in China, one of the places with the highest volume of sales of illegal CDs and DVDs.
The actor appears on posters under the slogan Protect movies, say no to piracy and they are placed in the Silk Market, located in Beijing next to the American embassy, one of the places where more DVDs are sold, including pirates, of course ... It has been estimated that 20 million people will walk through the area and they will be able to read the poster.
Obviously, this fight aims to reduce piracy rates, restoring strength to the film industry, but in a way, it also seeks to clean the image of the city from the eyes that the Olympic Games attract to Beijing.
"In a market where piracy is still a serious problem, the need to encourage audiences to value the movies they love is crucial"
Ellis, MPA President for Asia Pacific.
