Canadians The New Pornographers They are one of the most interesting and original bands that have appeared in the north country. One of the compositional heads, the guitarist A. C. Newman was interviewed by Hernán Muleiro, of the Clarín newspaper, on the occasion of the departure of his second solo album, Titulado GetGuilty.
In Newman's words, the note transits his characteristic phobias and virtues, his work as a soloist, the worst and best show he ever gave and his lyrics and way of composing.

-What was the worst and the best show you gave?
-The worst must have been one with George Clinton & the Parliament Funkadelic; We played with The New Pornographers after them and there were thousands of people who left, but it was funny in a way. The best was one with Ray Davies (singer of The Kinks), he is one of my musical heroes so it was a great honor. I took a lot from him and Brian Wilson. It is important to account for influences. You are here because there were many people making music before, it is not by chance.
-Your songs are usually more descriptive than average, how do you compose the lyrics?
-It may be that the letters are descriptive, but that does not mean that they are explanatory or concrete. I don't think the lyrics have to be obvious. I make lists of the sentences that I like, books or movies and then they shoot towards some abstract place.
-What differentiates you from the rest of the guys making sad songs with guitars?
-I don't know if there is a difference in reality, except the fact that I am a redhead, it is true. I'm just a guy with a guitar.
-What is the question you hate to answer in interviews?
- "What can we expect from the show tonight?" There is no correct answer for that.
-What situation is ideal to listen to your music?
-In an altered state, this is how the textures and smells in the background of the songs are heard.
