Four days after the release of 'Super', Pet Shop Boys released 'Happiness' last Friday, the theme that opens what will be his 13th album.
'Happiness' is the third released preview of 'Super', after 'Inner Sanctum' and 'The Pop Kids', the first official single from this new album. With hardly any lyrics - «It's a long way to happiness, a long way to go. But I'm gonna get there boy, the only way I know. »- 'Happiness' is the perfect confirmation of Neil Tennant's intention to publish a new album oriented to the dance floor.
When Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe released their previous album, 'Electric' (2013), they talked about how excited they were to collaborate with Grammy-winning producer Stuart Price, stating that the intention was for 'Electric' to be the first part of a trilogy.
The comments that are read on the net about 'Super' -some websites that have the album in pre-sale allow a preview of the songs- show a lot of thumbs up. Although it can already be said that one of the songs will not leave anyone indifferent, 'Twenty-something': Pet Shop Boys reggaetoneros ... with that says everything. To give you an example, especially those of us in our thirties: Do you remember the face that was left on you when you heard 'La Gloria' by Erasure for the first time? Something like this could happen to you with 'Twenty-something'.
Curious highlights aside, I think it can be said from now on 'Super' will know how to be the perfect continuation of 'Electric'. The intention was to continue developing the most danceable side of the Pet Shop Boys and the result is finally - it will be next Friday - present. The ideal now would be that the sales accompany and that the intention of that trilogy ends up becoming a reality.
