The charismatic Balkan artist Goran Bregovic has new record material in the streets and these days he is involved in a long tour of Europe, in plan to present Alcohol, the aforementioned album.
These days, the Serbian performed in Cádiz and Madrid, where a crowd greeted him with great enthusiasm and was entertained to the rhythm of Bregovic's crazy orchestra. This Wednesday March 18 the musician will give his last show in Spanish lands, in the city of Barcelona, at the Palau de la Música.
Goran Bregovic is one of the most representative musicians of the Balkan musical culture, together with Emir Kusturica and the incomparable Gogol Bordello. Bregovic has made the soundtracks of the films of kusturica and maintains a great friendship with the filmmaker.
The artist himself defined the new album Alcohol, like a disk "To dance and drink."Alcohol was recorded live at a festival in Serbia and is divided into two parts: Sljivovica (typical national drink of your country) and Champagne (to be released in September).
Born in Sarajevo, the son of a Serbian mother and a Croatian father, Bregovic performs on stage with an orchestra of 21 musicians, which are at the same time his Wedding and Funeral Band, and a sextet of male voices, two female voices, and a string quintet.
