Goodbye Michael Jackson: the world of music, in mourning

Michael Jackson

Yesterday, while this tragic event spread rapidly through all the news media, many of his friends and renowned artists were leaving messages of condolence and gratitude on their respective personal pages (I only collect some published in Twitter) ...

Slash: It is really very sad what happened to Michael ... he was a talent that is no longer seen.

Quincy Jones: I am totally devastated by the news. I still can't take in the fact that he left so young. I lost my brother this afternoon… a part of me goes with him.

P. Diddy: Michael taught me that you can not only feel the beat, but also get to see it. It made music take on a life of its own. He made me believe in magic… I will always miss him.

Mark Hoppus (Blink-182): Thriller was the first cassette album I bought, with the money they gave me for my birthday. It was the first original tape that I played on my walkman. Rest in peace.

MC Hammer: I will be in mourning my friend, brother, teacher and inspiration. He brought hope to both me and my family. I could never have been myself if not for him.

Arnold Schwarzenegger: Today, the world has lost one of the most important icons of the music industry ... beyond his personal life, Michael was undoubtedly a great artist and his popularity knew no borders. Our heart goes out to his family, his children, and all his followers.

Justin Timberlake: we have lost a genius, an ambassador not only of pop but of music in general… he has been an inspiration to many, and I will always value the time we spent together on stage and all that I learned.

Chris Cornell: driving between Poland and Berlin. I just found out that Michael has passed away… I am very sad. I remember the Jackson 5 on my black and white television… what magic they had!

Thanks for the music, Michael.
