For their fifth album, the pop-punk group will return to the sound of their early work. At least that is what his singer assures, Joel Madden: «The only thing I can hear when I listen to this record is our first two albums. This album has the same energy as those ».
The frontman attributes the rescue of that early era to the time taken after the release of Good morning revival in 2007, a time that spanned a year, and Madden dedicated to his family.
The reunion of the band in Los Angeles, to begin rehearsing the Cardiology songs, was a great climate. Madden explains it by assuring that "We were very excited to be back, and I think you can see that in the recordings we made."
For this album, Good Charlotte enlisted the services of Howard Benson, a producer who accentuated the rock imprint, abandoning a certain dance influence from his latest albums. Meanwhile, Madden and company will have to select, out of a total of 100, the handful of final songs for Cardiology. The new CD comes out in March or April of next year.
