In the latest film to hit Spanish screens, The curse of the golden flower, the fabulous actress, of Chinese nationality, appears, gong li like the empress of the ancient Tag dynasty, one of the most exuberant, which ruled China more than 1000 years ago, at a time full of ostentation. The Dynasty lived up to the old Chinese proverb "Gold and jade on the outside, rot and decay on the inside" which would come to say that the beauty of the exterior keeps deep down a dark and atrocious truth.
The film, released on April 27, begins on the eve of the Festival "Chong Yang", when the Emperor (Chow Yun Fat) returns with his second son, Prince Jai (Jay Chou) to the palace, to celebrate the feast with his family. However, the tranquility soon ends and the conspiracy echoes the protagonists who want to overthrow a cruel emperor who wants to end the life of his wife. Also noteworthy is the ostentation of the main settings, such as the palace inside and outside, and some settings where the film takes place is the strong point. The vivid colors of the walls, the costumes, the thousands of extras who have participated in the battle and the interpretation of the main actors envelop the viewer, transporting them to ancient China.
The Final Battle demonstrates director Zhang Yimou's ability to create realism in his film with bloody confrontations between the Emperor and his sons and subsequently this final battle that I speak of. Death is present in most of the film.
With a duration of approximately 114 minutes, it makes a pleasant movie, and easy to carry. The dialogues are characteristic of the time, they talk about you at all times, even if their lives are in danger. In short, it is a movie worth seeing, also because it conveys joy to you with so many different colors that there are.
Finally, if you like to see a real actress capable of playing the Empress, as she already did as Geisha, don't miss "The Curse of the Golden Flower."
