Glastonbury doesn't want Kanye West

Kanye West

When a festival like Glastonbury, which gathers a staggering 135.000 loyal music fans each year, receives a petition signed by 50.000 people to remove one of its artists from its annual lineup, it is something to consider. Many fans are not at all happy with the fact that Kanye West is headlining the Glastonbury 2015 lineup. One of his assistants, Neil Lonsdale, launched a petition on Change.org to remove the artist from the poster stating that «Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world. Prevent this musical injustice. We spend hundreds of pounds to attend the festival and in doing so we expect a certain level of entertainment. Kanye has been very frank in his views on music. He must listen to his own advice and give his place to someone who deserves it. ".

The issue now is that Neil Lonsdale's petition has collected 50.000 signatures, making clear the great discontent that exists with the headliner. With so many signatures gathered - and with the amount of money that they pocket thanks to the attendees - it could be said that the festival organizers would end up ignoring those who year after year manage to make Glastonbury the festival that it is: the fans. Unfortunately, and for the moment, it is not known if this request will end up being successful.
