Gainsbourg-Bardot, source of inspiration for the new album by Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn

Scarlett Johansson & Pete Yorn

The beautiful Hollywood actress took a new break in her acting career and is currently fully dedicates himself to his musical project with his friend and singer-songwriter Pete yorn.

The new record material is titled Break up and its point of origin is the duets recorded in the 70s by the French artist Serge Gainsbourg and actress Brigitte Bardot.

The presentation of the album took place a few days ago in the French capital, Paris, where Johansson and Yorn were able to speak to the press and explain the birth of this new musical challenge: «I wanted to record an album with a female voice and it had Brigitte Bardot as a reference, so I immediately thought of Scarlett, but nevertheless, this album is not a tribute to either Bardot or Gainsbourg », Yorn clarified.

For its part, Scarlet mentioned that the album took so long because, in principle, they had no plans to release it: «I always thought of this album as a small project between friends. Then we made our friends listen to it, they liked it a lot and that's why we decided to launch it ».

Break Up was recorded in 2006 in producer Sunny Levine's studio. There they captured the 9 songs of the album, who speak of stories of heartbreak and suffering, always accompanied by a clear folk weather. The disc will be edited by Warner Music.
This is the second work by Scarlet Johansson, who last year had already given us Anywhere I lay my head, where she reverses several songs by Tom Waits, in addition to the special participation of David Bowie.
