Final Fantasy XV and Florence + The Machine

Final Fantasy XV Florence Welch

Florence Welch (Florence + The Machine) has created her own version of the Ben E. King classic 'Stand By Me' for the soundtrack of the 'Final Fantasy XV' trailer. It was yesterday, March 30, at the 'Uncovered Final Fantasy XV' event, that the - expected for years - video game launch date was discovered: September 30.

Upon discovering the official trailer for 'Final Fantasy XV', titled 'Reclaim your throne', fans discovered the voice of Florence Welch, dividing the criticism equally among the followers of Florence + The Machine, delighted once again with the wonderful voice of Florence, and those who complained about the lack of epicity of the theme chosen to accompany the images of the game.

Florence Welch spoke about how she wanted to approach this collaboration with Square Enix: I've always seen Final Fantasy as something mythical, beautiful and epic. 'Stand By Me' is perhaps one of the best songs of all time and it would be impossible to improve it, so the only thing you can do is make it yours. For me all of this has been about bringing the song to the world of Florence and the Machine and the world of Final Fantasy ».

This is one of those stories that I like to sharpen. I have been following the adventures of the Final Fantasy saga for 20 years and on that side I understand those fans who have not understood this strange couple that are Square Enix and Florence Welch. On the other hand, I have been attached to music all my life -and they have been more than 40 years- so I also understand all those who have applauded this collaboration.

It would be impossible to launch a minimum negative criticism towards this version of 'Stand By Me' by Florece + The Machine and even less towards the spectacular voice of Florence, but it does I understand that any fan of the Final Fantasy OSTs has been somewhat stunned by the simple reason of the difference to the usual themes that Square Enix chooses for this saga. Has this been a movement focused on the American and European markets? I guess so. Likewise, although I appreciate this step for the simple reason of how good this woman always sounds, I think I still stick with the epic-dramatic roll of the Final Fantasy as always ... although this is not one of the Final Fantasy as always ... contradictions and more contradictions.
