After his last film from the 90s, «Eternity and a day», Theo Angelopoulos se spent six years before shooting his next job well into the first decade of the XNUMXst century.

His first work in the new century was "Eleni" in 2004, the first installment of a trilogy that unfortunately remained unfinished with the death of the author when he was about to start filming the last part of it. This feature film was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlinale and obtained the FIPRESCI award at the European Film Awards.

In 2007 he participated in the episode film «To each his cinema»Together with 34 other directors. The film, a tribute to the Cannes Film Festival on its 60th anniversary, includes 33 short films by different authors. The Angelopoulos segment is entitled "Trois Minutes."

One year later he shoots what would be his last film, «The dust of time», second installment of the trilogy that had begun four years earlier with "Eleni". The film was presented, a year after its premiere, in Spain at the Seminci in Valladolid, opting for the Golden Spike.

Angelopoulos's filmography has been quite brief but of great quality and much more in its last decade, which only left us two films and a small collaboration in the film tribute to Cannes.
