Lukas Moodysson es one of the best Swedish film directors from the actuality. His feature film debut at the end of the 90s surprised everyone with its great quality, and although he has never finished having the recognition of other colleagues, he does not want to say that he does not shoot at the same level as them.

Moodysson was a poet and novelist before he was a filmmaker, publishing several books already in the 80s such as "It doesn't matter where the lightning strikes" from 1987 or "The Gospel according to Lukas Moodysson" from 1989. This facet never leaves her and she continues to write and publishing books to the present day.

His first film job came in 1995, was the short film "Det var en mörk och stormig natt" with a duration of 10 minutes. A year later he made another short film, "En uppgörelse i den undre världen", this time with a much longer length, 23 minutes. And before making the leap to feature film, he still made a third short film in 1997, "Bara prata lite" of 14 minutes.

Finally in 1998, and after the experience of three short films, Moodysson decided to make the leap to feature film and shot "Fucking Amal", a film that surprises everyone for its quality, especially for being a first feature film. The film won the awards for best film, best director, best screenplay and best actress, ex aequo for the two protagonists of the film Alexandra Dahlström and Liljeberg, in the Guldbagge Awards delivered by the Swedish Film Academy.
