In the coastal town of Pinamar, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, are held every year on Pinamar Screen Film Festival, with various films entering the competition, as well as seeking the arrival of the most independent works produced during the year, to a spectator public that does not always have access to them.
This year more than 50 feature films made in 2008 will be seen in the country, competing for the Gold, Silver and Bronze Balance Awards. All films that took part in a contest or were awarded at class A festivals during the past year participate in these shortlists.
The films Leonera, The Headless Woman, Rain, Giants of Valdés, Blood Gushing, The Round, Don't Look Down, The Empty Nest, Loving Solitude, El Torcán, The Artist and Vile Romance. European films, such as Gomorra, by Matteo Garrone, or Entre los Muros, by Laurent Cantet, will also enter the competition.
In turn, in the Panorama Special section of the Berlinale, there will be films by directors who have established themselves as greats in history. Claude Chabrol will present his latest work, starring Gerard Dépardieu, called "Bellamy". And with his just turning 100 years old, the Portuguese Manoel de Oliveira will present "Singularities of a loura rapariga".
A proposal that will take place from March 7 to 14 of this year in Pinamar. So as not to lose sight of those who are still on vacation there on that date.
