Fernando Ponce de León says goodbye to Wizard of Oz

With one last show scheduled for June 26 in Álcala de Henares (Madrid), the flute player of the legendary Spanish band, Fernando Ponce de Leon, will greet the fans to say goodbye.

After more than 10 years with Wizard of Oz, the musician decided to leave the group, issuing a statement in which there is no shortage of memories and gratitude to all those who were involved, in one way or another, to the Wizard of Oz: «After this long and beautiful love story, I say goodbye. It has been more than ten years of happy, exciting, passionate, scary, funny, impressive, friendly, fucked, loving experiences; in short, human. A whole life with these magnificent bastards with whom I have shared practically everything. Friendship, love of music and beauty will continue to unite us. Good luck to everyone. May the gods be favorable to you. I will miss you".

With his collaboration on the album The legend of La Mancha, Ponce de León dazzled the drummer Txus di Fellatio, who made sure to have it again on the next album, Finisterre. From there, the flutist remained as a stable part of the Madrid group, participating in the recordings of the subsequent works.
