Release, discharge, anger. All these things, and many others, can explain why one screams. The Young Neorcan Artist LeRoy Stevens, only 25 years old, brought the scream to the fore when a few months ago he released Favorite Recorded Scream, a vinyl that compiles the 74 most outstanding screams in the history of music.
With a more than modest circulation (about 500 copies) but with a lot of cunning and a nose for business, Stevens not only took the trouble to select the best screeches from a wide musical spectrum, but for 6 months he toured Manhanttan stores and record stores, trying to sell the album.
Favorite recorded scream opens with the famous Vamos de Pixies, and continues with the shrill voices of Bjork, Iggy Pop, Slayer, The Who, Roger Daltrey, Yoko Ono, Rahsaan Roland Kirk and De La Soul, among others.
12 inch vinyl It is available for $ 15 in specialized places in New York, and it can also be ordered through the internet, through sites such as OtherMusic.com or Turntablelab.com.
